Following the finding of two animals in the river, legends and memories about being a child in the rural Galicia of the 1960s emerge. A surrealist voyage between the past and the present through the life experiences of the director’s mother.

The processes of transformation experienced by people in the frame of a ritual constitute a special world that has been rarely dealt with visually. This film follows the Empalaos of Valverde de la Vera along their intimate process of preparation as penitents, where emotions, tenderness and values, as well as the collective solidarity needed for the Empalaos to keep their promises, come to the surface.

Aitor was born with congenital glaucoma that led to loss of vision in his right eye when he was only 14 years old. Although his doctors advised him not to surf again, he decided not to follow their recommendations and lost his sight in a fateful accident while he was surfing. He was 39 years old. Today, five years after his accident, Aitor wants to prove that people with disabilities are able to face any challenge they set themselves, but for that he will need to get physically and mentally ready. Above all, he will need to overcome his doubts and fears of reliving the accident that left him blind.

A minefield and the second largest military wall in the world separates Sidahmed, Zaara and Taher from their homeland that they have only heard about in their parent’s stories. They are Sahrawis and have been abandoned in this refugee camp in the middle of a stony desert ever since Morocco drove them out of Western Sahara forty years ago. They spend their days fixing cars that can’t take them anywhere and fighting for political change without response and dreaming of a future. With vitality, humor and unexpected situations, this film paints the unusual portrait of a group of young friends trying to expand themselves beyond the borders of the camp.

Marcelo Ndong, an African artist in his sixties who was educated in Spain and now runs a small nursery school in Malabo, Equatorial Guinea, receives an unexpected proposal: to put on a play relating his own life. In Malabo, Marcelo will create a play that will be staged in Santiago de Compostela. A personal, creative journey that will take him from postcolonial Guinea and Francoist Spain to both countries as they are today, through his incredible life voyage as a mime, musician, actor and circus performer, but, above all, as a migrant.
