The Play-Doc International Film Festival opens the call for entries for its 22nd edition, which will take place from April 29 to May 3, 2026, in the Galician city of Tui, on the border between Spain and Portugal.
The submission deadline is March 20, 2026.
Over more than two decades, Play-Doc has established itself as a landmark festival thanks to its independent spirit, rigorous programming, and a strong commitment to both discovery and rediscovery, combining retrospectives of major filmmakers, classic films, and contemporary cinema from around the world, with a special attention to Galician cinema.
As every year, the festival will also offer a broad programme of parallel activities, including workshops, masterclasses, expanded cinema performances, live music, and exhibitions, as well as its professional space VENTURA, dedicated to industry meetings, project development, and training for filmmakers and producers.
The call is open to films of all lengths, genres, and themes, both fiction and non-fiction, and with no restrictions on nationality. All films selected for the competitive sections will be eligible for cash awards and a trophy, granted by an internationally recognized jury.
