Play-Doc International Film Festival has opened submissions for its International and Galicia competitions. The 23rd edition will take place from 28 April to 2 May 2027 in Tui, Spain. The call for entries will remain open until 15 March.

Over more than two decades, Play-Doc has established itself as a leading independent film festival, recognised for its independent spirit, rigorous programming and commitment to cinematic discovery and rediscovery. Its programme combines retrospectives — many of them presented for the first time — devoted both to major figures in film history and to the discovery and recovery of forgotten, censored or little-known filmmakers, with contemporary cinema from around the world and a particular focus on Galician cinema.

Alongside its screenings, the festival presents an extensive programme of parallel activities, including workshops, masterclasses, expanded cinema, live music and exhibitions, as well as VENTURA, its professional platform dedicated to industry meetings, project development and training for filmmakers and producers.

The call for entries is open for the International and Galicia competitive sections, with no restrictions on genre, length, subject matter or nationality. Films selected for either competition will be eligible for cash awards and trophies, presented by international juries.

Entries may be submitted until 15 March 2027 through the form available at www.play-doc.com.
