A film born from nothing. With no prior research and no characters, locations or themes defined, a film crew travels to the backlands of Paraíba in search of people with stories to tell. In the municipality of São João do Rio do Peixe, the film discovers Sítio Araçás, a rural community where 86 families live, most of them related to one another. With the help of a young woman from Araçás, the residents — most of them elderly — speak about their lives, shaped by popular Catholicism, hierarchy, and a strong sense of family and honor — a world that is slowly disappearing.
