In 1838, in the fictional German town of Wisborg, Thomas Hutter, a young estate agent, is sent by his eccentric boss, Knock, to Transylvania to finalize the sale of a property to the mysterious Count Orlok. Ignoring the locals’ warnings, Hutter arrives at Orlok’s castle, where he discovers his host is a vampire. As Orlok sets off for Wisborg with a shipment of coffins, unleashing a deadly plague, Hutter races back to save his wife, Ellen, who appears to share a strange connection with the vampire. Directed by F.W. Murnau, Nosferatu: A Symphony of Horror is an iconic unauthorized adaptation of Bram Stoker’s Dracula and a cornerstone of German Expressionism, famed for its haunting atmosphere and Max Schreck’s chilling performance.
