Nelson Cavaquinho is a beautiful and poignant record of the sambista and his environment, talking and playing with friends and neighbours, at home, in the bar, in the courtyard. Scenes of life in the neighbourhood are interspersed with memories and improvisations, composing a complex portrait, as joyful as it is melancholic, of the composer and his community on the fringes of society.
