Film entry regulations

1. General

Play-Doc is an independent film festival that takes place in the city of Tui, Galicia, Spain, right on the border with Portugal. Each year Play-Doc screens competitive and non-competitive programs, as well as retrospectives of filmmakers of great renown, and/or cult and independent filmmakers whose work has remained lost, forgotten or is widely unknown. The festival’s aim is to create access, exchange and dialogue around fiction/non fiction cinema, presenting and rediscovering cinema classics as well as ofering the latest trends from around the world to a large, enthusiastic and diverse audience.

2. Dates

The 20th edition of Play-Doc, Tui International Film Festival will be held from 1st to 5th May 2023.

3. Eligibility

Submissions are open to creative documentaries of all lengths and subject matters. Those films who will have its Spanish premiere at the festival will be given preference.

4. Competition and Awards

All films selected for the competitive programs are eligible for the best film award, decided by a jury of international prestige. The prize comprises a cash award + trophy.

5. Entry fee

An entry fee of 10€ is required for all submitted films.

6. Selection

All films submitted to Play-Doc are considered for both competitive and non competitive programs. Decisions on programs placement are made at the discretion of the festival programmers. The scheduling of the selected films will also be at the discretion of the festival management.

7. Announcements

The festival will only notify the selection to the contact persons of the films selected. The full program will be announced prior to the festival on our website www.play-doc.com

8. Deadline

The call for entries will remain open until April 1st 2024.

9. Acceptance

Entry and participation of films implies unconditional acceptance of the regulations. In unspecified cases, the festival management will make afinal decision.
