Film entry regulations

1. General

Play-Doc is an independent film festival held in the Galician city of Tui, on the border between Spain and Portugal. Each year, Play-Doc presents a selection of competitive and non-competitive programs, as well as retrospectives of internationally renowned filmmakers and cult or independent directors whose work has remained lost, forgotten, or largely unknown.

The festival aims to foster dialogue around fiction and non-fiction cinema, presenting and rediscovering film classics while showcasing a carefully curated selection of contemporary cinema from around the world, with a special focus on Galician cinema, to a large, diverse, and participative audience.

2. Dates

The 22nd edition of Play-Doc, Tui International Film Festival, will take place from April 29th to May 3rd, 2026.

3. Eligibility

Submissions are open to films of all lengths and subject matters. Preference will be given to films having their Spanish premiere at the festival.

4. Competition and Awards

All films selected for the competitive programs are eligible for a cash award plus trophy, granted by an internationally renowned jury.

5. Entry fee

An entry fee of €10 is required for all submitted films. Payment must be made exclusively through the online submission form

6. Selection

All submitted films will be considered for both competitive and non-competitive sections. The artistic direction of the festival will be responsible for the selection. The scheduling of the selected films (dates, venues, and times) will be determined by the festival management.

7. Announcements

The festival will contact only the representatives of the selected films. The full program will be announced prior to the festival on our website www.play-doc.com

8. Deadline

The call for entries will remain open until March 20th, 2026.

9. Acceptance

Submission and participation imply unconditional acceptance of these regulations. In any unspecified cases, the festival management will make the final decision.
