TRASPIELAS

Traspielas is the new project by Galician singer-songwriter Su Garrido Pombo, together with Macarena Montesinos(cello), Iago Ramilo (saxophone), Marco Maril (electronics), and Fran Rodríguez Casal (visuals). The piece celebrates the collective memory of a village through a musical, poetic, and visual performance.

This live show is built upon traditional songs collected by Su Garrido Pombo herself in the village of Traspielas(Fornelos de Montes), and combines them with projections of both contemporary and archival images. Each of the artists brings a rich and diverse background, blending traditional music, electronics, and experimental sound to shape a contemporary creation. The goal is to breathe new life into this sonic heritage through a multidisciplinary proposal that highlights community and popular culture rooted in the land.

Beyond the recovery of traditional music, Traspielas offers a contemporary reflection on place, exploring themes of belonging, identity, and oral tradition through a scenic and sonic language that transforms memory into a living experience.

Following its participation in Residencias Artísticas Mariñán 2024MUMI: Músicas no Minho, and the MARÉ Festival in Santiago, the group is now preparing for a tour and the recording of this new album project.
