"A Raia" is the border which divides the southeast of Galicia (Spain) from the northeast of Portugal. It is a montaineous area with an extream climate. A land of the interior, a land of farmers. The villages in this area have been forgotten by the story, at the periphery of each nation. These are only some of the circunstances which made and still make this place and its people exceptional and their stories as valuable as unknown.

Here is a new episode of the adventures of the enfant sauvage Kaspar Hauser together with his inseparable and loved wooden horse. On this occasion Kaspar, an untenable subject, possesses the personality of five archetypical figures: a sadomasochist dwarf, a seductive maiden, a cynic and despotic fellow, a romantic sailor and a pathetic batman that, in this movie is played by the director himself. This is a portrait of an antihero dressed in robe and slippers, a compulsive smoker, a true image of the maladjustments that so well depict the state of a disappointed humanity, one that is given to thinking, one that belongs to this world, but, yet, it never does so.

Among the several waves of migration that Barcelona has seen, there is one that stands for its own: that of the 60's. Dozens of thousands of inhabitants that came mostly from the countryside arrived to the city. These young workers of that time have nowadays become retired citizens who, despite having lived most of his life in the city, do not forget their rural background. Some of them decide to grow abandoned lands that appear among the urban infrastructure of the peripheral industrial areas of the city, where control on these lands is more flexible.

Several “urban garden plots” appear, places that keep the memory and the land working methods of a whole generation that suffered a rural exodus alive. Places that question our perception of the city.
