In an era in which imitation is the way to success, Rubblebucket have remained faithful to their roots – roots which are full of unconventional influences and sounds. Labels such as indie, afro-funk, art-rock, pop, or dance are too narrow to express the eclecticism and originality of a band whose only aim is to get the audience moving – out of their seats and onto the dancefloor.
Leading the band are Kalmia Traver (singing and on the tenor sax) and the trumpet player, Alex Toth. Their fourth EP “If U C My Enemies” is the perfect example of why thousands of people have been attracted to these musicians based in Brooklyn. The music is outstanding, fun, catchy and optimistic. It is in other words the perfect tonic on grey days. It will pick you up, literally, reminding us that music has the power to move us in many ways.
