Play-Doc International Documentary Film Festival has given its prizes today. The award of the international goes to No Cow on the Ice by Eloy Domínguez Serén. The jury composed of Portuguese film critic Nuno Lisboa, the director of Pravo Ljudski Film Festival in Sarajevo Kumjana Novakova and filmmaker Akosua Adoma Owusu unanimously decided to award “a film that unfolds the complexities of the reality the filmmaker is a part of, while searching for his individual cinematic language.” The also say of the film that “it challenges cinema by dealing with difficult issues through honest filmmaking decisions”.
The international critics’ association CAMIRA has decided to give its award to Le terrain by Bijan Anquetil. The jury composed of Mireia Iniesta (Spain), Raquel Schefer (France) and Luís Mendonça (Portugal) has also decided to give an special mention to Occidente by Ana Vaz.
