Submissions are now open to creative documentaries of all lengths and subject matters, completed after January 2018. Those films that will have its Spanish premiere at the festival will be given preference.
The 15th edition of Play-Doc International Documentary Film festival will be held from April 3rd to April 7th, 2019.
Play-Doc is an independent film festival that takes place in the ancient and beautiful city of Tui, Galicia, Spain, right on the border with Portugal. Each year Play-Doc screens highly curated competitive and non-competitive programs, as well as retrospectives of filmmakers of great renown, and/or cult and independent filmmakers whose work has remained unknown, lost, censored or widely forgotten.
The festival’s aim is to create access, exchange and dialogue around fiction/non fiction cinema, presenting and rediscovering cinema classics as well as offering the latest trends from around the world to a large, enthusiastic and diverse audience.
All films selected for the competitive program are eligible for the best film award, decided by an international jury and consisting of 2.000€ + trophy.
All films submitted to Play-Doc are considered for both competitive and non-competitive programs. Decisions on programs placement are made at the discretion of the festival programmers. The scheduling of the selected films will also be at the discretion of the festival management.
The call for entries will remain open until February 15th, 2019. The festival will only notify the selection to the contact persons of the films selected. The full program will be announced a month prior to the festival on this website.
